A trip with South Africa led me to Robben Island, the distant rock where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned .

The water was choppy and the boat ride was very rough but the view looking out to Lion’s Head Mountain gave hope on our way back. This was surreal because Madela spent 27 years imprisoned for treason. Such a beautiful view under those terrible circumstances.
